Bandipur
which is also known as Devanagiri is the beautiful hill range of Chamarajanagar
district of Gundlupet taluq. The gorgeous hill range attracts many tourists
towards its place. Bandipur National Park provides an astonishing experience of
watching wildlife. With 874 square kilometers area, the forest is a home for
many wild animals and endangered species as well. People love to spend their
time in this place. Bandipur National park, Nagarahole National park, Mudumalai

Bandipur
Bandipur is
the nearest place for ooty, the queen of hills and is situated 80Kms away from
Mysore district. Tourists can visit Goplaswamy betta which is built on the
highest peak of Bandipur National park. This temple is built in 13th
century. According to the history the temple is the fort of Terakanambi
Palegars. Tourists will never forget the
view of nature from this temple. The nature uncovers its beauty, the view of
the hills in breath taking. People who wish to visit Goplaswamy betta which is
well known as Himada Goplaswamy betta should take a taxi or a motorbike as
there is no bus facility to reach this highest peak of Bandipur. People who
visit the highest peak need to pay entrance fee to the forest department. For
cars the fee would be around 50INR and for motorbikes the fee would be around
25INR.
Resorts and
wildlife safari
However,
there are many reputed wildlife resorts in Bandipur welcome tourists round the time. Wildlife safari is organized
by the Bandipur forest department. It’s a 45 minute bus safari where the
visitors can get a chance to visit the wildlife. However it is very rare to
visit tigers in this area. It may be a chance to visit the national animal.
Wildlife safari is organized between 6AM to 11AM and after 4PM. Little champs
can enjoy 20 minutes elephant ride in the forest. However, trekking in the forest area is
banned. The tourists can get a chance to
spend some time with peacocks, elephants, dears and many animals which give an
unforgettable experience. One who wish
to visit wildlife in jeep need to pay extra fee to the forest department.
